Russia Prepares to Withdraw Military Equipment from Syria
The Russian military command is preparing to withdraw equipment from the Hmeimim airport in Latakia, according to Dmitri Nikotin's Telegram channel.
“Several Il-76 and An-124 Ruslan aircraft arrived at the airport yesterday, which had previously been used for the rapid transport of heavy equipment to Syria,” the source notes.
The decision to withdraw the equipment was made after rebel terrorists seized the Syrian capital, Damascus.
The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized that the Russian bases in Syria are on high alert. “At this moment, there is no serious threat to their safety,” the ministry added.
