Announcement of Assad's Regime End on Syrian State Television

Announcement of Assad's regime end has been made on Syrian state television. Syrian rebels have captured Damascus and declared the overthrow of Bashar Assad's regime.

Earlier, the Syrian army also announced the fall of Bashar al-Assad's government. Local Telegram channels claim that government forces have donned civilian clothing and abandoned their positions. Gunfire continues in the city, while internet access is intermittent.

Rebels have taken control of the capital's airport and started releasing prisoners from jails. Convicts have exited the Damascus prison. The Republican Guard has ceased protection of Assad’s residence, while militants have entered the Presidential Palace of Syria.
