Russia's Foreign Ministry Makes Controversial Statement: This Does Not Serve the Interests of the Armenian People
The Russian Foreign Ministry has stated that Armenia's membership in the European Union would contradict the long-term interests of the Armenian people.
In their remarks, the Russian Foreign Ministry noted that the rhetoric of the Armenian authorities regarding European integration remains "out of frame" concerning the militarization of the EU, Brussels' policy towards direct military confrontation with Moscow, as well as the stance aimed at delivering Russia a "strategic defeat."
The Russian foreign policy department also labeled Armenia's plans to hold a referendum on joining the EU and the Eurasian Economic Union as a "blatant manipulation" and an example of "reversed logic."
