If the validator is malfunctioning, citizens are not required to pay through alternative means. This was stated by Suren Grigoryan, the Deputy Mayor of Yerevan, during a council session.

“There are no grounds to think that the unified ticketing system will not be ready by January 1,” Grigoryan said. “If the system fails in any situation, the entire logic is that the citizen receiving the service should not suffer from it. For example, if the validator is malfunctioning on a bus, it is not required of the citizen to pay through alternative means,” he emphasized, noting that, fortunately, such instances are declining.
