Reasons Behind the Decline in Visitors from Russia to Armenia Revealed
The number of visitors from Russia to Armenia has decreased this year. In an interview with Sputnik Armenia, the head of the Tourism Committee, Lusine Gevorgyan, discussed the reasons behind this decline.
“This is due to a number of objective and subjective factors, ranging from the internal political situation to unjustified high prices for accommodations for tourists,” she noted.
To address these issues, the committee is actively working to enhance Armenia's appeal, including the development of special tour packages and positioning the country as a hub for medical tourism.
Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan stated in the National Assembly that there has been a 7% reduction in the flow of Russian tourists over the past nine months.
