Investigative Committee Reveals Details of Soldier's Death
On October 13, 2024, reports were received that at around 09:30 on the same day, the body of a soldier, Agasi Serzhi Dallakyan, who was performing combat duty in the concentration area of the Armenian Ministry of Defense's N military unit, was discovered with a gunshot wound to the neck.
Following the incident, the investigative department of the Investigative Committee of Armenia initiated criminal proceedings under Article 155, Part 1 of the Criminal Code of Armenia. The preliminary investigation has been assigned to a specialized investigative group.
During the investigation, necessary and urgent investigative and procedural actions have been conducted. In particular, inspections of the crime scene and the body have been carried out. Necessary samples have been taken from the body, and a forensic medical examination has been appointed.
Instructions have been issued to the relevant units of the Ministry of Defense and the police department to carry out operational and investigative measures. Relevant documents have been obtained from the military unit, samples have been taken from the soldiers who were on duty, and decisions have been made regarding forensic examinations.
Numerous fellow soldiers and representatives of the officer corps have been interrogated. The investigation is ongoing, and all necessary procedural and evidential actions are being taken to clarify the causes and circumstances of the incident.
Notice: A person charged with a crime is presumed innocent until proven guilty by a court decision that has entered into legal force in accordance with the procedures established by the Criminal Procedure Code of Armenia.
