Mercedes Hits Pedestrian Crossing on Unauthorized Section in Yerevan, Resulting in Fatality
On September 3rd, at around 20:20, 51-year-old Armenian resident Armen A. struck a pedestrian with his Mercedes vehicle on Charents Street, right in front of the "MG" retail chain, while the pedestrian was crossing the road in an unauthorized area. This was reported by Shamshyan.
According to the website's information, the driver did not flee the scene and called for an ambulance. The medical team confirmed the pedestrian's death at the scene.
A criminal case has been opened in the investigative department, where the identity of the deceased is being ascertained. Following the investigator's orders, the vehicle has been moved to a special secure area of the police headquarters in Yerevan.
The website notes that there are both overhead and underground crossings just a few meters away from the site of the accident.
