Soldier's Body Found at Military Outpost: New Details from the Investigation Committee
On September 2, a report was received indicating that at around 10:10 AM, the body of soldier Edgar Sargsi Aleksanyan was discovered at the military outpost of the RA Ministry of Defense’s military unit N. Preliminary information suggests that the soldier died from a fatal gunshot wound.
Following the report, a criminal case was initiated by the third garrison investigative department of the military investigative main department of the RA Investigative Committee, based on article 522, part 2, point 3 of the RA Criminal Code. An investigative group has been formed, and an examination of the scene has been conducted.
An external examination of the body revealed a gunshot wound in the neck area, with no signs of other violence observed. A forensic examination has been scheduled.
The pre-investigation continues, with necessary and urgent investigative actions being taken to clarify the circumstances and causes of the incident. Investigative authorities have been tasked with gathering relevant information for further examination.
Notice: The individual accused of the crime is considered innocent until proven guilty in accordance with the procedures established by the Criminal Procedure Code of the Republic of Armenia, as determined by a legally valid court verdict.
