New Details Revealed by HAMAS About the Night of the Movement's Political Bureau Chief's Death
HAMAS representative Khaled Al-Qadumi has revealed new details regarding the night of Ismail Haniyeh's death. In an interview with Al-Arabi al-Jadeed, Al-Qadumi denied the reports suggesting that Haniyeh died from a bomb explosion.
He stated, “At 1:37 AM, the building shook. I immediately left the room and saw thick smoke. After that, I understood that Haniyeh had died,” according to IRNA.
Al-Qadumi highlighted, “The severity of the tremors made me think there had been an earthquake or thunder and lightning. I opened the window, but there was no rain, thunder, or lightning. The air was warm. We went up to the fourth floor, where the martyrs' room was located. I saw that the walls and ceiling of the room had collapsed. From the condition of the attack site and Haniyeh's body, it was clear that the attack was carried out by an air-launched missile or shell.”
He added that technical and special teams in Iran are conducting an investigation and the results will be announced later. Al-Qadumi criticized American and Israeli newspapers for their “misleading narratives” that a bomb was planted under Shahid Haniyeh’s bed, stressing, “The purpose of these narratives and statements is to remove the direct responsibility from Israel so that the consequences of this crime do not fall on them.”
