VIDEO: New Record for Fastest Goal in European Championship History
The goal scored by Albania's defender Nedim Bajrami, playing for Italian club Sassuolo, against the Italian national team is the fastest in the history of the European Championships, according to UEFA's website.
In the first match of Euro 2024, Bajrami made his mark just 23 seconds into the game, finding the net against PSG's goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma.
The match ended with Italy winning 2-1.
The previous record was held by Russia's Dmitri Kirichenko, who scored at the 67-second mark against Greece during Euro 2004.
