Czech Police Intensifies Security Measures
Due to the threat of terrorism in the Czech Republic, the police have stepped up security measures, reports Idnes citing Interior Minister Vít Rakušan.
“The police are currently implementing preventive measures and have no information about an immediate threat. Additional information will be released soon,” the minister told reporters.
According to the publication, the threat that has led to the heightened security measures may not only pertain to the Czech Republic.
Armed police patrols have been deployed in the streets of Prague, particularly near railway and bus stations, while police are checking the identities of drivers on highways.
