Abnormal High Temperatures Possible in Turkey During July-August
Abnormal high temperatures are possible in Turkey during July and August. According to Orhan Şen, a meteorologist at Istanbul Technical University, temperatures could reach +42 to +43 degrees Celsius.
Şen reminded that in 2023, Istanbul recorded a heat of 41.3 degrees, surpassing the 1938 record of 40.6 degrees.
As Şen noted, summer is expected to bring 'heat waves,' meaning several consecutive days of above-average temperatures. In addition, heavy rains and even hail are forecasted in some regions of Turkey, raising the risk of flooding.
