India's Parliamentary Elections Lead by PM Modi's Coalition
In India's parliamentary elections, the leading coalition is Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) headed National Democratic Alliance (NDA). This is supported by exit poll data published by NDTV.
According to these reports, Modi's coalition is expected to secure a majority in the lower house of the 543-seat parliament. Some sources have suggested that it will gain between 359 and 371 mandates. The opposition coalition, which includes 28 parties, is projected to win between 125 and 154 mandates.
The Election Commission of India plans to announce the official results on June 4.
