Erdogan Declares One-Day Mourning in Turkey for Raisi's Death
Turkey will observe a one-day national mourning in connection with the death of Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi. This was announced by the country's President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
The news of the Iranian leader's death became known on Monday, May 20. The helicopter transporting Raisi crashed.
“In connection with the death of the Iranian president, we have decided to declare a one-day mourning in our country to share the deep sorrow with the Iranian people,” Erdogan said, as reported by TASS.
Earlier, Iranian Vice President Mohsen Mansouri announced that Raisi's burial will take place on May 23 in the city of Mashhad, Razavi Khorasan Province.
