Earthquake Recorded in Azerbaijan Felt in Armenia
On May 11, at 17:21 (GMT 13:21), an earthquake with a magnitude of 5.0 was registered by the Seismic Protection Territorial Service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Armenia at geographical coordinates of 38.90° North latitude and 48.88° East longitude, located 17 km north of the city of Lankaran, Azerbaijan, at a depth of 10 km. The intensity of the underground tremor in the epicentral zone was measured at 6-7 points.
The Ministry of Emergency Situations has reported that the earthquake was felt in the cities of Kapan, Kajaran, Agarak, and Megrik in the Syunik province, as well as in the villages of Alvank, Nrndazor, and Shvanidzor with an intensity of 4 points.
