Earth Hit by Most Powerful Magnetic Storm in 20 Years
A significant magnetic storm at the highest (level five) classification has struck Earth, marking the first occurrence of such an event in the last 20 years. This was reported by Sergey Bogachev, the head of the Solar Astronomy Laboratory at the Russian Academy of Sciences, according to RIA Novosti.
“We are experiencing a high-level magnetic storm after a 20-year hiatus. This is classified as G5,” he stated.
Prior to this, Andrey Tyazhelnikov, the chief specialist for primary care at the Moscow Department of Health, advised summer residents to reduce their pace of work in their plots during magnetic storms, while suggesting that athletes should switch to moderate training regimens. Paramedic Natalia Balana had previously reported that the most common effect of magnetic storms is headaches, as neurons in the brain become hypersensitive due to magnetic bursts and electrical signals.
