Under What Conditions Will the 'Armenia' Faction Resign Its Mandates and Call for Early Elections?
The 'Armenia' faction of the National Assembly of Armenia will resign its mandates and call for early elections if Nikol Pashinyan is not serving as acting Prime Minister during that period. This statement was made today by 'Armenia' faction MP Artur Khachatryan during parliamentary briefings.
"He should not remain as acting Prime Minister and use all administrative resources to secure votes in the elections. They say the Prime Minister has resigned twice. Fine, he has resigned, but remains in the same position with the same leverage. What difference does it make whether he resigned or not?" he stated.
According to the MP, elections must be fair, and the only condition for fairness is the aforementioned. Regarding the impeachment process, the MP mentioned that there needs to be a sufficient mobilization of public outcry for it to succeed. The process will simply not work without that.
