This announcement was made by Gerth Jan Koopman, Director-General for Neighborhood and Enlargement Negotiations at the European Commission, during the event titled 'European Team Initiative for Demining Operations in Azerbaijan.' Earlier, Koopman indicated that he had arrived in Azerbaijan.
“I have arrived in Azerbaijan to discuss EU-Azerbaijan cooperation regarding COP29, demining, and other issues. The visit began with a fruitful meeting with Hikmet Hajiyev, Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan, and Fuad Rzayev, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs. This is an important opportunity to create a positive agenda for green energy, regional connections, and peace in the South Caucasus,” he stated.
