Announcement on Meeting with Kiranzi Residents
The civil movement "Tavush for the Homeland" has issued a statement.
“Yesterday, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan met with residents of the Kiranzi village at the government building. The meeting took place in a rather discouraging atmosphere, failing to alleviate the concerns of the residents, while the issues troubling the people of Kiranzi remained unanswered, which once again indicates that the current government of Armenia lacks a clear political strategy and alternative plan to ensure the safety of its citizens and protect their rights to life, property, and ownership. The government simultaneously announced that it cannot guarantee the safety of residents in the 'Armenian part' of the territories subject to demarcation. The government has exhausted the last opportunity to provide state security guarantees to the residents of Kiranzi village in the Tavush region, as well as to other communities in the remaining regions subject to demarcation in Armenia. This is another fact that the illegitimate current government of Armenia, through the circulation of false theses regarding demarcation, sovereignty, and peace, is making unconstitutional and unilateral concessions in favor of Azerbaijan, whose creeping aspirations will soon manifest in Syunik, Ararat, and Gegharkunik. The Armenian government has squandered the political, security, and diplomatic arsenal of Armenian resistance and, due to its incapacity, moral decay, and dissemination of false information, is exclusively trying to justify itself at the expense of the national-state interests of Armenia and the Armenian people. Therefore, the residents of Tavush, and thus every Armenian citizen, have long been unprotected. The government has lost the trust of the people due to its political conduct, fully failing its constitutional and moral obligation to ensure the life of every ordinary citizen. We reaffirm that this entire process is illegal, contradicts the Constitution and laws of Armenia, and must be suspended,” the statement reads.
