New Details on the Tragic Incident in the Metro
Auroranews has contacted the spokesperson of the Yerevan Metro to understand the condition of the train driver and the passengers who witnessed the unfortunate incident.
According to Metro spokesperson Tatev Khachatryan, the passengers on the train did not see anything; the eyewitnesses were mainly those waiting for the train at the station. Emergency Services, ambulance staff, and psychologists have been working with both the driver and the station attendant who noticed the man at that moment, attempting to take measures to bring him back, but unfortunately, it was unsuccessful.
As of 22:55 last night, metro operations have been fully restored across the line. Trains are running according to schedule. Earlier, it was reported that the Yerevan Metro temporarily switched to single-track bi-directional traffic due to the emergency incident that occurred. On April 21, around 20:00, a citizen identified as B.A., born in 1996, committed suicide by jumping under a train arriving at the “Zoravar Andranik” station.
