A Proposal to Organize a Blood Donation Mobile Unit at the National Assembly: Avanesyan
The need for blood donation is increasing not only in Armenia but worldwide. Unfortunately, this culture has not yet gained traction in Armenia, and we must learn to donate blood at least once a year, as there is no medication that can replace blood. This was announced today, April 11, by Health Minister Anahit Avanesyan from the podium of the National Assembly.
“Construction work is underway for a new branch of the blood bank at the Yolian Blood Center. We will complete it by the end of the year and will have a fully equipped blood bank that will serve the entire republic, also for strategic reserves and more. The regional blood points are also undergoing renovation and re-equipment. Soon, renovation works will begin at the Goris blood point. We already have the equipment and are waiting for the renovation to finish so we can install the equipment.
I propose to organize a mobile blood donation unit at the National Assembly in the coming month and involve the parliament in the donation process,” she said.
