Opening of Armenia-Turkey Border Will Be a Milestone Event for the Region, Says Pashinyan
Armenia is awaiting the implementation of the agreements reached and officially recorded in its relations with Turkey. This was announced by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan during a speech at the National Assembly, discussing the execution process and results of the Government Program of the Republic of Armenia (2021-2026) for the year 2023.
“In our relations with Turkey, if I may put it this way, we are in a state of expectation, waiting for the implementation of the agreements reached and officially recorded, specifically the opening of the Armenia-Turkey land border for the citizens of third countries and holders of diplomatic passports,” said Pashinyan.
In his assessment, the opening of the Armenia-Turkey border will be a milestone event for the region, and efforts in this direction will continue. The Prime Minister also touched upon a socio-psychological nuance: “It is very important to note that I am currently speaking about Armenia-Turkey, not about Armenian-Turkish relations. These two formulations have similarities, but they are not the same.”
