Andranik Kocharyan on Starting the Border Demarcation Process from Tavush
The chairman of the National Assembly's Standing Committee on Defense and Security, Andranik Kocharyan, believes that the entire political spectrum of Armenia is concentrated in the Tavush region.
"Moreover, they talk about things that do not correspond to reality. They go, take pictures under trees, saying that Armenia has given away villages. We are not giving away villages; it is impossible. The one who gives away a village becomes a criminal. We are starting the legal process of forming the state border," he said in a conversation with reporters at the National Assembly.
Kocharyan added that once the border line is established, defending it becomes much easier. "After that, the forces responsible for its violation will step in - the border guard troops," he noted.
To the question of whether the demarcation will indeed start from the Tavush region, he responded, "Isn't it clear that when we started from that section, it means that at some point, some body of state security has looked at where it is more efficient and found this way? That is called the General Staff."
