Soldier Injured in Mine Explosion: Both Feet Amputated
A soldier has been injured in a mine explosion at a combat position in the Tavush region of Armenia, near Ijevan. According to Sputnik Armenia, the incident occurred yesterday evening.
The soldier was transported to the Ijevan medical center, where he underwent surgery. "The lower extremities were damaged. Both feet have been amputated," stated officials from the Ijevan medical center.
It has been reported that the soldier is now being transferred to the Muratsan military hospital in Yerevan. Efforts to obtain further details about the incident from the Ministry of Defense's press service have so far been unsuccessful.
