Ruben Vardanyan Nominated for the 2024 Nobel Peace Prize
Ruben Vardanyan has been nominated for the 2024 Nobel Peace Prize for his charitable and humanitarian work. His candidacy has been proposed by several distinguished individuals, including a Nobel Peace Prize laureate.
The information was provided to NEWS.am by Ruben Vardanyan's office: “Ruben Vardanyan has been put forward for this prestigious award for the establishment and support of around fifty new and unprecedented educational, charitable, scientific, and humanitarian organizations, not only in Armenia but also in several other countries. Proponents have deemed Vardanyan’s character as a humanitarian and philanthropist, as well as his consistent efforts to implement long-term stability and development tools through humanitarian, charitable, and social programs, even during wars and crises of financial and political nature, to be impressive and worthy of international recognition.”
Particularly noted in this context is his work in the besieged region of Artsakh, where Ruben Vardanyan has made significant efforts to not only alleviate critical humanitarian needs but also create opportunities for improving the living conditions of people and children in difficult situations.
It has been acknowledged that Vardanyan’s philanthropy encompasses not only national but also international levels and holds global significance and impact. One of his major initiatives, the “Aurora” humanitarian initiative, is aimed at providing assistance and extending a helping hand to all those who act for the greater good at the risk of their own lives around the world and across all continents.
In the letter from the distinguished individuals who proposed Vardanyan’s nomination, it was also noted that he has shown respect not only for the legacy of his own people and religion but also for that of others. A vivid example of this is the restoration of the Iranian mosque in Shushi, initiated by Ruben Vardanyan.
