Armenian Authorities Are Doing Nothing to Free Artsakh Leadership: Metakse Hakobyan

Metakse Hakobyan, a member of the 'Justice' faction in the National Assembly of the Republic of Artsakh, emphasized in an interview with Oragir.News that higher-level actions are necessary to release the military-political leadership of Artsakh. According to her, simply talking and taking other ineffective measures will not lead to concrete results.

“This should be done by the specific interested parties, whose voices can be heard and have an impact; in particular, the authorities of Armenia, who have certain opportunities to act. All the accusations directed at our military-political elite are blatant lies and fabrications, to which seemingly no one objects. I do not think that in this case our voice can have any impact,” noted the Artsakh parliament member in her conversation with the media.

When asked what problem Azerbaijan is trying to solve by keeping the Artsakh military-political leadership detained for as long as possible, Metakse Hakobyan replied that the enemy is trying to address various issues. “First of all, it is in their style. The most important is blackmail, as they have disseminated news that Artsakh President Araik Harutyunyan and former commander of the Defense Army Levon Mnatsakanyan have been interrogated, which is blackmail aimed at all of us. Everyone was agitated and worried, without realizing that this was a violation of basic human rights and could not have any legal consequences,” she said.

Metakse Hakobyan drew attention to the fact that the Artsakh military-political leadership is under various pressures in unimaginable conditions in Azerbaijan. In such circumstances, it is impossible to assert that Azerbaijan will not present falsification as reality.

In response to another question about whether the actions of the Armenian authorities are sufficient, Metakse Hakobyan stated that there are no actions being taken by them at all.
