Details Emerge on the Murder of Russian Pilot Kuzminov in Spain

Russian pilot Maxim Kuzminov has been murdered in Spain, in the parking lot of his home. This incident follows his hijacking of a Mi-8 helicopter in Ukraine in August 2023. Shell casings from a Makarov pistol were found at the crime scene, according to RBK, citing The New York Times.

The publication reports that on the morning of the murder, a white Hyundai Tucson, occupied by two individuals, arrived at the parking lot of the apartment building where Kuzminov lived. They waited for several hours for the former pilot to arrive. Kuzminov reached the parking lot around 16:20, and as he exited his vehicle, the assailants opened fire on him. He was hit by six bullets, and during their escape, the shooters ran him over with their car.

According to a source from NYT, Kuzminov was living an 'ostentatious life' in Spain. For instance, he frequently visited bars popular among Russians and Ukrainians and drove a black Mercedes S-Class.
