Macron's Statement Angers American Officials: Bloomberg

French President Emmanuel Macron's remarks about the possible deployment of foreign troops to Ukraine have angered American officials, who express concern in private conversations that such a move could lead to a confrontation with Russia. This was reported by Bloomberg, citing a source.

According to the agency's interlocutor, Macron's hints were made to compel Russian President Vladimir Putin to think again, but officials familiar with the ongoing NATO debates regarding Ukraine say that such statements could have the opposite effect.

Other officials who spoke with Bloomberg on condition of anonymity noted that Macron's comments were not very wise from an operational security standpoint, as the agency indicates that several countries have covertly deployed certain military units in Ukraine.
