Images: Ukraine's Energy Facilities Under Large-Scale Attacks, Fire Erupts at DniproHES

Ukraine's energy facilities have come under large-scale attacks, announced Ukraine's Energy Minister German Galushchenko on March 22, as reported by the country's Ministry of Energy. According to the official, there are strikes and damages to various production facilities and transmission and distribution systems. One of the power transmission lines supplying the Zaporizhia nuclear power plant was also damaged, with the external 750 kV 'Dniprovska' overhead line being disconnected.

'There are power outages in certain regions,' said Galushchenko.

In turn, the Ukrainian company Ukrhydroenergo reported damages to the Dnipro Hydroelectric Power Station in Zaporizhia. Vladimir Rogov, chairman of the Public Chamber's commission on sovereignty, patriotic projects, and veterans' support, stated that fires occurred in the turbine room of DniproHES-2 due to explosions, as well as damage to the railway lines intended for elevators, which are set above the barrier.

The Russian Ministry of Defense has not reported on the attacks on Ukraine's energy facilities.

As reported by Regnum, the Zaporizhia NPP announced on the morning of March 22 that the 750 kV 'Dniprovska' high-voltage line supplying electricity to the plant had been disconnected. Currently, the ZNPP's electricity supply is ensured through the 330 kV 'Ferosplavnaya' line. The plant emphasized that there are no threats to safety boundaries.
