Peskov Warns of Consequences of Foreign Military Presence in Ukraine
The deployment of foreign military contingents to Ukraine is fraught with negative consequences. This was stated by the press secretary of the Russian President, Dmitry Peskov, as reported by an RBK correspondent.
“In any case, we have repeatedly said that the dispatch of any foreign military units to Ukraine is laden with many negative and potentially irreparable consequences,” the president's representative clarified.
Peskov also noted the necessity of obtaining accurate information regarding the potential deployment of a European military mission to the Ukraine-Belarus border. “For now, as far as I understand, there is nothing precise in that regard,” he said.
Peskov had previously warned that the sending of Western soldiers to Ukraine would inevitably exacerbate the conflict between Russia and NATO, a warning he first issued back in late February. Yesterday, Ukrainian Parliament member Alexey Goncharenko spoke about the possibility of introducing such a military group in northern Ukraine.
