Palestine Should Have a Separate State Without Armed Forces, Says Scholz
Palestine should have a separate state from Israel, but without armed forces, as this would be a significant step towards peace. This was stated by German Federal Chancellor Olaf Scholz, as reported by RIA Novosti.
The Chancellor added that Berlin, Brussels, Washington, and many other countries are actively promoting the two-state idea, as it is necessary for resolving the conflict.
“Of course, through negotiations. And it is clear that we are talking about a state that will not have its own armed forces,” said Scholz. He emphasized the urgent need for reforms within the Palestinian National Authority, noting that there have been no elections for this body for at least 17 years.
