Russian Presidential Candidate Kharitonov Advises Armenia to 'Think Hard' About Leaving CSTO
Russian presidential candidate Nikolai Kharitonov from the Communist Party of the Russian Federation has urged Yerevan to "think hard" regarding its desire to withdraw from the CSTO, according to NEWS.ru.
According to him, the Armenian diaspora in Russia "hopes and believes that the leadership of Armenia will not make a wrong and perhaps fateful" decision.
"Armenia should first think about where it is willing to go. There are centuries-old relations and friendship with Russia. The haste shown by Armenia is something that should be considered. Measure seven times, cut once... We hope for wisdom," he told reporters.
Previously, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced that the country’s participation in the CSTO is on hold.
