If Putin Calls Me, I Will Pick Up the Phone, Macron
The President of France, Emmanuel Macron, stated that he is ready to negotiate with Putin; however, he added that real negotiations for an end to the war must be conducted by Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
"I will pick up the phone if Putin calls me. It is my duty, and I will listen to what he has to offer. France's role is to be the 'nerve of the war.' On one hand, we need to provide Ukraine with everything it requires to bolster its defense and military capabilities, while at the same time contributing to de-escalation. If Putin wants to propose something, I will listen to his offer, but I must say that the only negotiations are those conducted by the leaders of the two countries," Macron said in an interview with TSN.
