"It Would Be Great if the U.S. Established a Visa-Free Regime for Georgian Citizens" - Georgian Prime Minister
It is extremely important for Georgia to establish relations with the United States, as well as with China, Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili told reporters.
"It would be great if the U.S. established a visa-free regime for Georgian citizens, especially since such a decision would not bring any changes to migration policy," he stated.
He expressed hope for the opening of direct air connections with the U.S., the signing of a free trade agreement, the expansion of trade-economic relations, and the attraction of American investments. "In all these areas, the situation between us and the United States is virtually zero today," Garibashvili said.
The Prime Minister noted that just a few days ago, he had a very "encouraging" meeting with the U.S. ambassador in Tbilisi.
