We Have a 'Peace Crossroads', but We Are Moving Towards War: Samvel Babayan
We have a 'Peace Crossroads', but we are moving towards war in great strides. This was stated by the former Secretary of the Security Council of Artsakh, Samvel Babayan, in an interview with Azatutyun.
“We have a road map, called the 'Peace Crossroads', presented by the current authorities, but we are moving towards war, not towards the 'Peace Crossroads'. If Turkey is building a 220 km road and this year the tender has started up to the Nakhichevan bridge, Azerbaijan has done so with Russia to Russia, now it has reached Horadiz and is coming here, while Armenia is left in the middle, and we are not allowing that road. The current government declares that we will not even discuss this issue, that there is no such thing. There is a 'Peace Crossroads' with Kapan, Sisian, Sotk, and Dilijan. If they want, let them use it. Azerbaijan is already constructing those roads without our agreement, and they say they have a Plan B through Iran. Since 1989, they have been supplying Nakhichevan through Iran and have always had that road, that Plan B, so their Plan B does not concern them because they are carrying out their activities.
One cannot take a word out of context and say we are moving towards peace; there is no peace here, we are moving towards war in great strides. Azerbaijan always finds a reason, saying you fired, we killed, you fired, we took over,” Babayan said.
