Azerbaijan Is Not Planning to Sign Any Peace Agreement: 'Fact'

The newspaper "Fact" reports that Azerbaijan is not planning to sign any peace agreement, while the Armenian side continues to not only ignore the aggressive actions of the enemy but also crosses all possible red lines in yielding to its demands. This opinion was expressed by Arshak Karapetyan, the former Minister of Defense of Armenia and leader of the "Pan-Armenian Front" movement.

In an interview with "Fact," Karapetyan stated, "Our behavior in all matters is very concerning," referring to the recent developments between Armenia and Azerbaijan, adding that all of this could end very badly for our statehood and our people.

Karapetyan recalled the ceasefire violations that occurred in 2021 in Yeraskh, when the Armenian side responded appropriately, which curbed the appetite of the Azerbaijanis. Today, according to him, the authorities are busy with demagoguery, claiming that a response to the Azerbaijanis could provoke military actions. In contrast, Karapetyan argued that such behavior leads to a greater war.

Commenting on Aliyev's threats and the demand to change the Constitution, Arshak Karapetyan emphasized that Armenia is probably the only country in the world to whom another country says, 'You need to change your Constitution.' "Azerbaijan does not want us to change the Constitution; it wants us to have no history. They want our history; they are a country without history. Azerbaijan was created in the early twentieth century, and there has been no mention of Azerbaijan in any documents prior to that. Their goal is not to sign a peace agreement with us, but to appropriate our history, to which our leadership is yielding," said the former minister.

Arshak Karapetyan also addressed Nikol Pashinyan's statements that the Declaration of Independence is a cause for war for Azerbaijan. "And how long should we be afraid? They ask, 'Let’s understand why they don’t love us and change.' Our Mount Ararat is on our coat of arms, our tricolor is not liked by the Turks, our history does not please the Turks, let’s change that. We lived during the Ottoman Empire and were their citizens. We had no coat of arms, no tricolor, we didn’t even have the right to bear arms, so why then did they start slaughtering us in 1915?" summarizing the views of Arshak Karapetyan, the leader of the "Pan-Armenian Front" movement.
