UK Prime Minister Calls on the West to be Bolder in Seizing Russian Assets
UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has stated that Western countries need to be bolder in seizing billions of frozen Russian assets. He expressed his views in a column for The Times, written in connection with the second anniversary of the start of the military operation in Ukraine.
“It starts with us taking the billions of interest generated by those assets and sending them to Ukraine. Then, together with the G7, we must find legal ways to seize those funds and also transfer them to Ukraine,” Sunak wrote.
The UK Prime Minister also called on allies to be bolder in providing military aid to Kyiv, including the supply of long-range weapons, drones, and ammunition, as well as sanctions.
