Hamas Transfers Response on Prisoner Exchange Agreement to Qatar and Egypt
The Palestinian Hamas movement has announced that it has transferred its response to proposals for a prisoner exchange with Israel to Qatar and Egypt, with a positive reaction received.
“Recently, after consultations with leadership and resistance groups, the Hamas movement has conveyed its response regarding the agreement to our brothers in Qatar and Egypt,” the movement's press release stated.
It noted that Hamas responded positively to the offer, welcoming the ceasefire regime, ensuring humanitarian aid for Palestinians, the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip, the lifting of the blockade, and the final exchange of prisoners.
At the end of January, representatives from Israel, the United States, Egypt, and Qatar agreed in Paris on the foundations for a new step-by-step prisoner release deal in the Gaza Strip. The Hamas movement had announced that it received a proposal to establish peace in Gaza, is currently considering it, and will provide its response.
