Body of Man Discovered in Trunk of "Izh" Vehicle
On February 4, a tragic incident occurred in Yerevan. Around 10:00 AM, the Armenian Ministry of Internal Affairs received operational information regarding a deceased individual found in the trunk of a non-operational "Izh" (also known as "Butka Moskvich") vehicle located near 8/16 Artsakh Street. The information about the incident was forwarded from the Erebuni Police Department to the investigative department of the Investigative Committee of Armenia for the Erebuni and Nubarashen administrative districts, where an investigative group was dispatched to the scene.
While forensic specialists worked at the site, officers from the criminal investigation department of the Erebuni Police identified the deceased as 49-year-old Vachagan A., a resident of Syunik Province, who had a history of several prior convictions. The body was discovered in the trunk with extensive facial injuries.
At the request of the investigator, a forensic examination of the body has been ordered.
Notification: A suspect or defendant in an alleged crime is considered innocent until proven guilty in accordance with the procedures established by the Criminal Procedure Code of Armenia, and by a verdict that has entered into legal force.
