Earthquake at the Kyrgyzstan-China Border
An earthquake measuring 5.2 on the Richter scale occurred at the border between Kyrgyzstan and China. According to RIA Novosti, this was reported by seismologists from Kyrgyzstan.
The epicenter of the earthquake was located in China, near the site where a powerful earthquake of 7 magnitude struck on January 23. The tectonic shifts due to geographical proximity were also felt in Kyrgyzstan.
The intensity of the underground tremors in the Kyrgyz towns of Yshyk and Bedel, closest to the epicenter, ranged from 3 to 3.5. According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Kyrgyzstan, there have been no casualties or injuries reported from the tremors felt within the country's territory.
