Aliyev Demands Restoration of Azerbaijan's Delegation Rights in PACE
If the rights of the Azerbaijani delegation in the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) are not restored, the issue of Azerbaijan's participation in the Council of Europe and the European Court of Human Rights will be reconsidered. This was stated today by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev. The information is provided by RIA Novosti.
"The rights of the Azerbaijani delegation in PACE must be restored. If the rights of the Azerbaijani delegation are not restored, Baku will reconsider Azerbaijan's participation in the Council of Europe and the European Court of Human Rights," said Aliyev during a meeting with the Secretary General of the Inter-Parliamentary Union, Martin Chungong, in Baku.
Last week, the Azerbaijani delegation in PACE announced that it was suspending cooperation with PACE and leaving the Strasbourg session in protest against double standards applied to the country.
