Russia Plays a Key Role in Preventing Armenia's Defeat: Zakharova
Russia remains a partner to Yerevan and is making a decisive investment in halting military operations. This was stated by the spokesperson of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, in response to a journalist's question regarding whether Moscow is prepared to mediate Armenian-Azerbaijani negotiations and the exchange of landmine maps for humanitarian purposes.
“Russia remains a partner to Yerevan and is making a decisive investment in halting military operations, particularly in the autumn of 2020. It is making contributions to prevent a more severe situation, one could even say, the defeat of Armenia. At the same time, we have always paid special attention to the humanitarian aspects of the Armenian-Azerbaijani settlement. Russia has actively supported the exchange of prisoners and detained persons, as well as the exchange of landmine maps. We are prepared to continue these efforts to bring peace to the South Caucasus,” she said.
