VIDEO. Lava Flows Towards Fishing Village: Volcanic Eruption in Iceland
For the second time in a month, a volcanic eruption has occurred in the Reykjanes Peninsula of Iceland. Lava is flowing towards a fishing village, prompting the evacuation of residents.
The eruption began the day before, following a series of small earthquakes. The Icelandic Civil Protection Agency had preemptively evacuated the citizens of Grindavik. It was later revealed that the lava flows have breached all earth and gravel barriers constructed around the town to protect its infrastructure.
