VIDEO: Avinyan on the Trolleybus Fire in Yerevan
A fire extinguisher was available on the trolleybus, but the driver was unable to extinguish the flames. This was stated today during the operational meeting of the Yerevan City Hall by Mayor Tigran Avinyan.
"Safety issues must be brought up to standard. All types of transportation should have fire extinguishers, we must ensure they are operational, and we need to know that drivers are aware of how to use them," said Avinyan.
More details can be found in the video.
Recall that on January 2, a trolleybus caught fire in Yerevan. The trolleybus serving route number 15 collided with a parked vehicle after the fire, but there were no injuries. According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs report, the trolleybus and a section of the adjacent shop were burned.
