Miller's Comments on Recent Events in the Armenian Quarter of Jerusalem
During a press briefing, U.S. State Department spokesperson Matthew Miller addressed the recent events in the Armenian Quarter of Jerusalem. A journalist requested comments on concerns that the Israeli government is using the situation in Gaza to escalate tensions and attempting to push Armenian Christians out of the Armenian Quarter. However, Miller indicated that he had no specific response.
“As we have stated repeatedly, we do not want the Israeli government to take actions that could lead to an escalation of tensions,” the U.S. State Department spokesperson added.
