Laws on Slaughterhouses Exist, but They Are Not Working: Kerobyan
During a press conference today, Minister of Economy Vahan Kerobyan addressed the complaints of businesses regarding the high costs of transporting livestock to slaughterhouses. "They can send their concerns to us, and we will definitely address them. But this brings us back to the same chicken and egg situation; if the laws worked, I am confident that the necessary infrastructure would be created, allowing for high-quality service in this sector. Since the laws have not been functioning in this area so far, this will result in financial difficulties for those who have invested in slaughterhouses because the proper implementation of the law has not formed the business volume needed for those companies to operate profitably," he stated.
Kerobyan also added that they are determined in this regard. "This means we must implement the laws. If we see there are gaps in applying the law, then we need to introduce additional tools," the minister said.
