Will Public Transport Fares Increase in Yerevan? Municipality Clarifies
The Yerevan Municipality has decided to raise bus fares from 100 drams to 150 drams in the near future. This was stated by David Khajakyan, the vice-chairman of the 'Enlightened Armenia' party, during a Facebook live broadcast.
"Naturally, they have to say that many things have become more expensive, and the route should also become more expensive," said Khajakyan, adding that he has reservations on this issue and that it is possible to maintain the current price through comprehensive reforms.
To verify the information, Auroranews contacted the Yerevan Municipality, where officials stated that the information was not accurate. "Currently, there are no discussions on this matter. If a decision is made, we will be the first to announce it," the municipality stated.
