DNA Tests Disprove the Myth of Turkic Origin: Most People Are Not Turkish
Most of the people living in Turkey, whose native language is Turkish, actually do not have Turkish origins. This was reported by Turkish journalist Uzay Bulut. “Their ancestors were forced during the Ottoman period to renounce their Christian faith and non-Turkish native language. This is the result of centuries of Islamization campaigns. I believe that every Turkish speaker in Turkey should take a DNA test to uncover their ethnic roots,” wrote the journalist.
It has been reported that 'Turk' Ceyla Betül Karaaslan took a genetic test and discovered that she is 46% Greek, 13% Italian… Apparently, she is only 11% Turkish. Thus, DNA tests disprove the myth of Turkic origin in Turkey.
