Turkey's Defense Minister: 'We Support Communication Between Yerevan and Baku'
Turkey's Defense Minister Yaşar Güler addressed Armenian-Azerbaijani relations during a meeting on November 27 with Azerbaijani Defense Minister Zakir Hasanov and Georgian Defense Minister Juansher Burchuladze. He stated that the countries of the South Caucasus can solve their problems independently and that Turkey supports communication between Yerevan and Baku.
“We are determined to develop our relations and strive for stability in the Caucasus. Azerbaijan has liberated ‘its lands from occupation.’ The countries of the region can resolve their issues independently, and to demonstrate this to the international community, we support communication between Yerevan and Baku,” said the Turkish minister.
He added that the “3+2” platform is a good format for peacefully resolving issues. “Armenia is failing to accurately assess the opportunity that has arisen,” the minister stated.
