Azerbaijan Currently Occupies Approximately 200 sq. km of Armenian Territory, Says Deputy Speaker
Azerbaijan currently occupies approximately 200 square kilometers of Armenian territory. This was stated by the Deputy Speaker of the Armenian National Assembly, Ruben Rubinyan, during the 56th plenary session of the CIS Inter-Parliamentary Assembly.
According to him, Armenia continues to work towards a peace agreement and the establishment of relations with Azerbaijan. However, he emphasizes that the agreement must recognize the country’s territorial integrity and sovereignty, as well as the principles of Yerevan's authority in case of a blockade of communications in the region.
